The Nizhny Novgorod heat power plant has been modernized.

      On August 4, 2026, 19:22 Society At the Nagornaya heat power plant in Nizhny Novgorod, a large-scale modernization has been completed: two old boilers were replaced with more powerful ones. This was reported by the head of the city, Yuri Shalabaev, on his Max channel. According to him, this will increase the reliability of heat supply and ensure stable heating for thousands of homes, as well as dozens of kindergartens, schools, and hospitals in the upper part of the city. The project was implemented with the involvement of preferential federal co-financing. During the installation and commissioning of the new equipment, the heat power plant continued to operate in normal mode. Last winter, the new boilers underwent commissioning. In the upcoming heating season, the new boilers will operate at full capacity. "Our NTC has already completed the scheduled maintenance, as have most other boiler houses. In the remaining summer month, the main repairs on the networks need to be completed," concluded the mayor. It should be noted that the Nagornaya heat power plant is one of the largest heating facilities in the city. It provides heat to the Soviet and Nizhny Novgorod districts of the city. Today, nearly 700 kilometers of heating networks are connected to it. It was previously reported that trial heating in Nizhny Novgorod will begin on September 1.
