"Yevdokiya" has passed the first 200 meters of the Nizhny Novgorod metro tunnel.

      On August 5, 2026, at 11:24 AM, the tunnel boring machine "Evdokiya," which is laying the left tunnel of the metro from Gorky Street to Freedom Square, has surpassed the mark of 200 meters.

      As reported by the MAX channel "MetroNN," nearly a third of the planned route has already been completed, which the metro shield began in May.

      One of the key stages of the tunneling was passing through the section near the historic quarter. Houses No. 123 and No. 127 on Gorky Street were previously affected by the metro construction zone.

      Before tunneling began, they were reinforced to ensure safe work. Specialists successfully completed the task, navigating around the historic quarter without deviations from the project.

      During the work, the miners installed more than 140 rings of high-precision reinforced concrete lining.

      Construction is currently ongoing according to the approved schedule.
