A simplified taxation system is planned to be introduced in the Nizhny Novgorod region.

      On August 4, 2026, 16:23 Economy In the Nizhny Novgorod region, a draft law has been prepared for the introduction of a special tax regime called "Automated Simplified Tax System" (ASTS). The document was developed by the regional Ministry of Finance and published on the government website for independent anti-corruption expertise and public discussion. It is expected that the new regime will come into effect on January 1, 2027, but not earlier than one month after the official publication of the law. Recall that the ASTS is an experimental tax regime that has been in effect in Russia from July 1, 2022, to December 31, 2027, in those regions where corresponding laws have been adopted. Its key feature is the automation of calculations and reporting. Companies and entrepreneurs can take advantage of it if they meet the established criteria: annual income of no more than 60 million rubles, an average number of employees of up to five people, and a residual value of fixed assets of no more than 150 million rubles. It should be noted that the issue of implementing the ASTS to support small and medium-sized businesses was raised by the governor of the Nizhny Novgorod region, Gleb Nikitin, at a meeting of the operational headquarters for ensuring sustainable socio-economic development of the region in July 2026.
