      On July 16, 2026, at 16:25 Society Nizhny Novgorod residents will be able to reach Tyumen via the paid M-12 "Vostok" highway in 2027. This became known following a meeting between the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin and Deputy Prime Minister Marat Khusnullin in the Kremlin. The head of state asked Khusnullin when the highway would be extended to Tyumen. He replied that the plan is to complete the work by the end of 2026. "December. So far, we are on schedule, we have every chance," the official said. It is worth noting that the highway from Moscow to Kazan connects five regions, including Nizhny Novgorod Oblast. Earlier, it was reported that Nizhny Novgorod Oblast assessed the potential of the areas near M-12 at 156 billion rubles.
