The court placed a 16-year-old resident of Dzerzhinsk under house arrest in a drug case.

      July 9, 2026 17:31 Incidents Investigators have initiated a criminal case against a 16-year-old teenager and a 19-year-old young man, who are suspected of attempting to illegally sell narcotic substances in large quantities. This was reported by the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for the Nizhny Novgorod region. According to the investigation, in July of this year, the suspects acquired and possessed a narcotic substance, which they subsequently intended to sell in the territory of Dzerzhinsk. However, they were unable to carry out their criminal intent — their actions were intercepted by the police. During urgent investigative actions, the narcotic substance was seized. The Investigative Committee noted that the total weight of the seized substance qualifies as a large quantity. A criminal case has been initiated under part 3 of article 30, paragraph "g" of part 4 of article 228.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Attempt to illegally sell narcotic substances using information and telecommunications networks, including the internet, in large quantities"). At the request of the investigator, the court has chosen a measure of restraint in the form of house arrest for the 16-year-old suspect. Currently, investigators continue to establish all the circumstances of the incident, as well as gather and secure the evidence base.
