Nizhny Novgorod residents were informed whether the fare will increase due to fuel shortages.

June 29, 2026 13:28 Society The increase in public transport fares due to the fuel situation is not expected in Nizhny Novgorod. This was stated by the Deputy Minister of Transport and Highways of the region, Denis Ryabinin, at a press conference on June 29, attended by a correspondent from NIA "Nizhny Novgorod." According to him, the current fuel supply situation in the city remains manageable. The price of fuel at the gas stations used for public transport has not changed. Carriers have been redirected to certain gas stations, and additional contracts for fuel supply have been signed with several companies. The regulated fare for travel is established according to the appropriate procedure. The carrier can submit a request for its revision, after which the regional tariff service checks the economic justification and makes a decision. At the moment, there are no such requests. Therefore, there is no basis to judge the imminent increase in fares in Nizhny Novgorod. At the same time, there is also an unregulated fare. Requests for fare increases have already been received under this fare, particularly from carriers in Bogorodsk. In these requests, problems with fuel are also cited among the reasons. Denis Ryabinin emphasized that public transport has priority in fuel supply, there are no disruptions in deliveries, they are carried out rhythmically, and there has been no reduction in the number of vehicles on the line. The deputy also noted that he supports the indexing of tariffs, as it is impossible to ensure the development of the transport system without it. However, there are currently no long-term forecasts regarding the situation. Earlier, we reported that residents of Nizhny Novgorod would be able to evaluate their trips on public transport using a QR code. NIA "Nizhny Novgorod" has channels on Telegram and MAX.
