Nizhny Novgorod region has become a leader in the fight against the illegal turnover of products.

The effectiveness of this work was assessed by the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia. An interdepartmental commission to combat the illegal turnover of industrial products operates in the Nizhny Novgorod region, chaired by Governor Gleb Nikitin. Its task is to make systemic decisions to fight against the illegal turnover of various goods, including tobacco and alcohol, footwear, tires, pharmaceuticals, light industry goods, perfumes, dairy products, bottled water, biologically active additives, and others. The commission includes representatives from executive authorities, law enforcement and supervisory agencies, customs and tax services. The Ministry of Industry, Trade, and Entrepreneurship of the Nizhny Novgorod region coordinates the work of the commission. "First place in the federal ranking is the result of the systematic work of all participants in the regional commission. In the Nizhny Novgorod region, effective interdepartmental interaction has been established, allowing for the prompt identification and suppression of illegal product turnover, as well as conducting preventive work with the business community. Over the past four years, the region has risen from 11th to 1st place in the ranking," noted Deputy Governor of the Nizhny Novgorod region Yegor Polyakov. According to the Minister of Industry, Trade, and Entrepreneurship of the Nizhny Novgorod region, Maxim Cherkasov, one of the key tools for protecting the market from counterfeit goods is the "Honest Sign" system. "Today, more than 70,000 participants in the turnover in the region use the 'Honest Sign' marking system - since the beginning of the year, their number has increased by almost 10,000. It is important for us that the implementation of the marking system is perceived by businesses as a clear working tool. Therefore, we constantly improve the formats for supporting entrepreneurs: we conduct consultations, training, and accompany companies when connecting to the system. This approach helps businesses comply with legal requirements, reduces the number of errors when working with marking, and contributes to a consistent fight against the illegal turnover of products," Maxim Cherkasov noted. Training on working with the marking of different groups of goods complements the tools of the national project "Effective and Competitive Economy."
