A woman from Nizhny Novgorod lost more than 7 million rubles for the sake of "investments in the stock market."
On June 28, 2026, at 12:32, Incidents: A 32-year-old resident of the Lenin district became a victim of fraudsters, losing more than seven million rubles under the pretext of investments. This was reported by the press service of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the Nizhny Novgorod region.
For a month, an unknown person communicated with the woman via messenger, introducing himself as a curator on the exchange. He offered a scheme for quick earnings through an investment platform.
Following his instructions, the Nizhny Novgorod resident registered on the resource and created a cryptocurrency wallet. After that, she transferred 7,028,000 rubles to the fraudsters—through direct transfers and via a crypto exchange point. Of this amount, 1.8 million rubles were taken from her personal savings, and more than five million rubles were taken out as a loan.
When she was unable to withdraw the supposedly earned funds and communication with the "curator" ceased, the victim turned to the police. A criminal case has been initiated and is under investigation regarding the incident.
