From the Kremlin to the Aniva Lighthouse: what the "Russia in Miniature" park looks like in Bor
On June 25, 2026, at 17:46 Culture and Leisure NIA "Nizhny Novgorod" - Alexandra Turovskaya The opening of the unique landscape park "Russia in Miniature" (0+) took place in Bor on June 25, reports NIA "Nizhny Novgorod" correspondent. More than 80 samples of world-famous architectural monuments of Russia are located on 1.5 hectares of a birch grove near the Nizhny Novgorod cable car. The exhibition has become the largest in the entire history of architectural modeling in Russia. In one space, majestic palaces and grand temples, elegant castles and cult monuments, and other iconic structures of the country are gathered. In just one hour of the tour, guests will be able to visit approximately 45 regions of the state and see 88 exhibits.
Undoubtedly, the exhibition features miniatures known to every Russian, such as the Kazan Cathedral in St. Petersburg, Lenin's Mausoleum in Moscow, or the Kizhi Museum-Reserve in Karelia, but there are also less obvious yet equally important attractions. For example, the Arctic Trefoil on Alexandra Land in the Arkhangelsk region, the Fire Watchtower in Omsk, or the Aniva Lighthouse on Sakhalin. By the way, the Nizhny Novgorod region is represented here by the regional Olympic reserve school named after V.S. Tishin.
As the project's author Viktor Zhilenko explained, a team of 60 specialists worked for five years to create the park. The miniatures are made of architectural plastic, allowing for the transmission of patterns, bas-reliefs, windows, and doors. The detailing is done with a high degree of accuracy - on the copies, one can even read the signs, and next to the buildings, see passersby. Each object, made to a scale of 1:50, is equipped with an information plaque.
This is the most Russian park in Russia. Here, the nature is beautiful; it is not just a place for recreation but a true lesson in understanding the Motherland. Each of you will leave here with the feeling that you have visited all corners of Russia and clearly understood where you want to go on your next journey, emphasized Viktor Zhilenko.
The park's territory was landscaped over two years. Specialists preserved the main feature - the birch grove, which became the perfect backdrop for the main Russian attractions. The area was planted with grass and shrubs, paths were laid out, and more than 25 benches were installed. This update of the location will not end here; soon, over 600 hydrangea bushes will be planted, and later, there will be points of sale for drinks and desserts.
The head of the local self-government of the municipal district of the city of Bor, Alexey Borovsky, noted that the creation of the new landscape park is a contribution to the development of the region's tourist attractiveness. According to him, the project, implemented in cooperation with the governor of the Nizhny Novgorod region Gleb Nikitin, could become one of the "pearls" of the Bor district.
When the idea was first born, it all seemed like an unattainable dream. But in a short period, land and infrastructure issues were resolved, and on this wonderful sunny day, the opening of the beautiful park took place, addressed the guests Alexey Borovsky.
At the entrance to the park "Russia in Miniature," visitors are greeted by a composition with a polar bear - the symbol of Russia, and the building itself refers to the legendary nuclear-powered ships.
The space will operate daily from 10:00 to 22:00, with ticket sales until 21:00. A 20% discount is provided for participants of the SVO. Tours are planned to be conducted every 15 minutes and will already be included in the ticket price. It was previously reported that during the restoration of historical doors at NNGASU, a message from the past and a record from craftsmen from 1901 were found.
