182 Nizhny Novgorod families received payments for adopting children.

      182 families in 2026 adopted children and received one-time payments from the Social Fund of Russia in the Nizhny Novgorod region. This was reported by the press service of the SFR. The allowance for placing a child in a family can be received by adoptive parents, guardians, custodians, or foster parents. They must be citizens of the Russian Federation and permanently reside in the country. In the Nizhny Novgorod region, the one-time payment for a child under 8 years old is about 28,450 rubles. If a family adopts several children at once, the allowance is granted for each of them. When adopting a child with a disability, a child over 8 years old, or siblings, the allowance will amount to more than 217,384 rubles. To receive the one-time payment, one must submit an application to the client service or MFC with a copy of the court decision on the adoption of the child. The specialists of the SFR will independently request the other documents as part of inter-agency cooperation. The application can also be submitted through the State Services portal or sent by mail (in this case, a notarized copy of the court decision on adoption is sent). The application must be submitted within 6 months from the date the court decision on adoption comes into force, from the date the guardianship authority makes a decision on its establishment, or from the date of signing the agreement on placing the child in the family. The decision on the appointment of the allowance is made within 5 working days after the application is received. If the application contains false information or documents are not provided, a decision will be made to refuse the appointment of the allowance.
