The foreign car confiscated from a Nizhny Novgorod resident has been returned to the ownership of the Ministry of Defense.

      On June 19, 2026, at 15:18, Incidents: The Arzamas City Court granted the lawsuit of the military prosecutor for the seizure of a Volkswagen Polo from illegal possession and its return to federal ownership.

      As reported by the court, the foreign car had previously been confiscated from a resident of the city of Sortavala in Karelia. In 2025, the vehicle was transferred to state ownership, after which the bailiffs handed it over to the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation as humanitarian aid.

      Later, the car ended up in the possession of one of the citizens. However, as a result of his illegal actions, the vehicle was removed from the ownership of the Russian Federation.

      Subsequently, the Volkswagen Polo became the subject of a transaction between two residents of Arzamas. The car was sold under a sales contract for 800,000 rubles.

      The military prosecutor filed a lawsuit to declare this transaction invalid. The court concluded that the sales contract is void and ordered the seizure of the car from illegal possession.
