In the near future, the expert commission will select leaders in two nominations: "Specialist in the operation of unmanned aerial systems (UAS)" and "Cook." The aim of the events is to promote working professions, raise professional standards, and identify the most qualified specialists in their fields. The competition allows for the identification of the strongest specialists in the industry, creating a personnel reserve and spreading best practices. "Today, the economy needs specialists who are ready to constantly develop, master new technologies, and confirm a high level of professional skills. The 'Best in Profession' competition helps identify such individuals, support their professional growth, and form the personnel potential of the region. It is especially important that both traditional working professions and new areas related to the development of modern technologies are represented among the nominations," noted Igor Pantyukhin, Minister of Demography and Human Capital Development of the Nizhny Novgorod region. The regional stage of the competition in the "Specialist in UAS operation" category will take place on June 29, 2026. The competition tests consist of two stages: theoretical testing on UAS operation issues and practical tasks on a simulator, as well as performing a flight mission on the unmanned aerial vehicle "Geoscan 801." Flights during the practical stage will be conducted on the unmanned aerial vehicles of the competition participants. Participants must also demonstrate the ability to troubleshoot, knowledge in the fields of aerodynamics, programming, geodesy, and legislation regulating the flights of aviation devices. Applications for participation in the "Specialist in UAS operation" nomination are accepted until June 26, 2026, on the "Work of Russia" portal: konkurs.trudvsem.ru/luchshiy/all_nominations/nomination?nominationCode=31. The regional stage for the "Cook" nomination will take place on July 2, 2026. Contestants will need to develop technological maps for specific dishes and demonstrate their preparation. The commission will evaluate theoretical knowledge, taste, presentation, and quality of the dishes. Federal stages for the "Specialist in UAS operation" nomination will take place in the Kaluga region from September 23 to 25, and for the "Cook" nomination—from July 30 to August 1 in the Vologda region. Nizhny Novgorod specialists regularly rank among the best participants in the competition. Thus, based on the results of the federal stage in 2025, the winners and prizewinners of the federal stage were Nadezhda Stepanova (LLC "Brig," 1st place in the "Seamstress" nomination), Alexander Petrov (JSC "OKBM Afrikantov," 1st place in the "Miller" nomination), Sergey Snegov (LLC "Gazprom Transgaz Nizhny Novgorod," 2nd place in the "Excavator Operator" nomination), and Oleg Petrov (LLC "Gazprom Transgaz Nizhny Novgorod," 3rd place in the "Bulldozer Operator" nomination). The best based on the results of the federal stages of the competition receive monetary rewards: 1 million rubles for first place, 500 thousand rubles for second place, and 300 thousand rubles for third place.
