The Investigative Committee opened a case regarding the house on Ilyinka in Nizhny Novgorod.
On June 9, 2026, at 16:12, the Society became interested in the emergency condition of the historical house on Ilyinskaya Street and the violation of the rights of the citizens living in it, as the regional Investigative Committee took notice. The reason was publications in the media about the improper condition of the cultural heritage site. It was also reported that the managing organization had ceased servicing the building, and necessary measures to ensure safe living conditions had not been taken in a timely manner.
By order of the head of the regional investigative department, Ayrat Akhmetshin, a criminal case has been initiated under part 1 of article 238 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation - "Provision of services that do not meet the safety requirements for the life and health of consumers."
Currently, a comprehensive set of investigative actions is being conducted. Investigators are to establish all the circumstances of the incident and provide a legal assessment of the actions or inactions of the employees of the management company responsible for the maintenance and repair of the house.
Judging by the published photograph, it concerns the house of the merchants Loshkarev on Ilyinskaya Street - a monument of architecture from the 19th century. The one-story mansion, built in the 1840s and reconstructed in the 1870s, is executed in the Russian folk style and decorated with rich carved woodwork.
The building remains residential, with an antique shop operating in the basement. The house is included in the list of cultural heritage sites and is under state protection.
Earlier, it was reported that in the apartment of house No. 18A on Piskunov Street, built in 1917, the ceiling collapsed right above the bed, and the room was filled with debris of bricks, wood, and plaster.
