      In the Nizhny Novgorod region, six new educational-production clusters of the federal project "Professionalism" of the national project "Youth and Children" will be created in 2027. The region's application received support from the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation following a competitive selection process, in which 95 out of nearly 400 applications were approved. As reported by the governor of the Nizhny Novgorod region, Gleb Nikitin, taking into account the 16 existing clusters and three that will open this year, by 2027 there will be 25 "Professionalism" clusters operating in the region. He noted that the program allows for the modernization of educational infrastructure, updating programs, and ensuring training of personnel in line with employers' needs.

      In 2027, the second pedagogical cluster will begin operations based at the Nizhny Novgorod Regional College. Previously, an educational cluster was opened in Dzerzhinsk. An application for the creation of a medical cluster has also been approved, where specialists in clinical and preventive medicine will be trained based at the Nizhny Novgorod Medical College.

      The medical cluster will unite the Nizhny Novgorod Medical College with its branches, the Arzamas Medical College, and 24 healthcare organizations. Training is planned for general practice specialists, laboratory technicians, dentists, and nurses. According to the deputy governor of the Nizhny Novgorod region, Andrey Checherin, the "Professionalism" program, as part of the national project "Youth and Children," is aimed at developing the system of secondary vocational education and ensuring the technological independence of the country. The region plans to expand the participation of colleges and technical schools in the project.

      Clusters of the fuel and energy complex will also be created at the Nizhny Novgorod Technical School of Urban Economy and Entrepreneurship, a shipbuilding cluster at the Sormovo Mechanical Technical School named after Hero of the Soviet Union P. A. Semyonov, an agricultural cluster at the Nizhny Novgorod Technological Technical School, and a cluster of the radio-electronic industry at the Arzamas Instrument Engineering College named after P. I. Plandin.

      In the fuel and energy cluster, specialists will be trained in the operation of electrical and thermal power stations, construction and maintenance of buildings, water supply and sewage, as well as welders and repairmen of construction machinery. The shipbuilding cluster will provide training in nine in-demand specialties, including shipbuilders-repairmen, electricians, welders, and operators of metalworking machines.

      The agricultural cluster will specialize in product processing. The base college will create seven modern work zones, including for quality control of raw materials and finished products and servicing technological equipment in the food industry. In the radio-electronic industry cluster in Arzamas, training will be organized in seven specialties, including software management and technical operation of information systems.

      The Minister of Education of the Nizhny Novgorod region, Mikhail Puchkov, emphasized that programs are formed with the participation of employers, ensuring practice-oriented training for students. Funding for the "Professionalism" project has been increased with the support of the "United Russia" party.

      The national project "Youth and Children" is being implemented at the direction of the President of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin, since 2025 and includes nine federal projects and programs, including "Professionalism."
