Nizhny Novgorod will host the Russian Super Cup in football.

      The Russian Football Union has finally decided on the venue that will host the match for the Russian Super Cup between Zenit and Spartak. This was reported by journalist and author of the Telegram channel "KB Telega" Maxim Nikitin.

      According to insider information, the meeting will take place at the "Sovcombank Arena" stadium in Nizhny Novgorod. He noted that other options for holding the match were previously considered, including Kaliningrad, Volgograd, and Kazan.

      Ultimately, the choice was made in favor of the Volga capital. As the journalist claims, the decisive factor was convenient logistics.

      Spartak's general director Sergey Nekrasov, commenting on this information for "Championat," stated that he had heard about such an option. At the same time, he urged to wait for the official decision from the RFU.

      The match (6+) for the Russian Super Cup between Zenit and Spartak is expected to take place on July 18.
