A "dormitory" with 19 illegal migrants was raided in Nizhny Novgorod.

      On June 9, 2026, at 15:21, Incidents During the operation "Illegal-2026," police discovered 19 foreigners who were in Russia in violation of migration legislation. The inspection took place at a manufacturing site in the Sormovsky district of Nizhny Novgorod, reported the press service of the regional Ministry of Internal Affairs.

      On Burnakovskaya Street, an equipped facility for workers was found, with sleeping areas, a kitchen, and a bathhouse. There, 19 migrants were detained who were engaged in electronics recycling.

      51 administrative protocols were drawn up under various articles of the Administrative Offenses Code of the Russian Federation, including for the absence of patents and evasion of departure from Russia. The total amount of fines imposed exceeded 100,000 rubles.

      A decision was made regarding all foreign citizens to expel them beyond the borders of Russia, placing them in the Temporary Detention Center for Foreign Citizens. In addition, a criminal case was initiated under part 2 of article 322.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation; a 47-year-old man is suspected of organizing a channel for illegal migration.

      Law enforcement also uncovered facts of fictitious registration of the detainees. According to the agency, they were mass-registered at one of the gardening associations and in a house on Gagarin Avenue, where they did not actually reside. Inspections are being conducted in this regard.
