A Nizhny Novgorod entrepreneur will be prosecuted for bribery and fraud in government procurement.

      On June 8, 2026, at 19:30, Incidents In Nizhny Novgorod, an individual entrepreneur will be tried, accused of commercial bribery and fraud in connection with government contracts. The indictment was approved by the Volga Transport Prosecutor. According to the investigation, in 2023, the entrepreneur paid an employee of another company more than 1.8 million rubles. In return, that employee, contrary to the interests of his employer, helped organize a competition so that the entrepreneur's firm would win—the contract concerned the supply of floating navigation marks. Another episode relates to 2024. When concluding another contract, the entrepreneur claimed that the navigation lights were produced in the territory of the Eurasian Economic Union. This allowed him to receive a price preference of 15%. However, as investigators established, the equipment was purchased abroad through an electronic trading platform and supplied to the customer, despite the declared origin. According to the investigation, in this way, the entrepreneur received more than 1.5 million rubles. An arrest has been placed on the property of the accused, valued at over 2.4 million rubles. The criminal case has been sent to the Nizhny Novgorod District Court for consideration on the merits.
