In the city of Dzerzhinsk, a man accused of murdering an acquaintance appeared before the court.

      The investigator of the investigative department for the city of Dzerzhinsk of the Investigative Committee of Russia for the Nizhny Novgorod region has completed the investigation of a criminal case against a 51-year-old local resident accused of murder (part 1 of article 105 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation) and desecration of a corpse (part 1 of article 244 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation). According to the investigation, in March 2026, the accused, while in an apartment located on Pravdy Boulevard in the city of Dzerzhinsk, during a quarrel with a previously known man, inflicted multiple stab wounds to his body. The victim died at the scene from the injuries sustained. After that, the man desecrated the corpse by inflicting multiple knife strikes to the neck and face. To conceal the crime, he carried the body of the deceased out of the apartment onto the street. During well-planned investigative actions, investigators of the Investigative Committee of Russia, in cooperation with operational staff of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the city of Dzerzhinsk, detained the man. The court has chosen a preventive measure in the form of detention. The investigation has collected sufficient evidence, and therefore, the criminal case has been sent to court for consideration on the merits.
