The results of the city festival "Family of the Year-2026" were summarized in Nizhny Novgorod. This was reported by the head of the city, Yuri Shalabaev, on his social media. A total of 83 families participated in the festival. "Each of them is a story of love, care, support, and true unity. It is a great joy and respect that many are raising more than three children. My soul rejoices for such Nizhny Novgorod residents!" wrote Shalabaev. Eight families reached the finals – the Usanovs from the Avtozavodsky district, the Avdonins from Kanavinsky, the Golyshevs from Moskovsky, the Kostromins from Nizhny Novgorod, the Kandeevs from Prioksky, the Leontievs from Soviet, the Kostiankos from Sormovo, and the Novikovs from the Lenin district. The final of the competition took place in the renovated Palace of Children's Creativity named after V.P. Chkalov. There, participants presented creative performances. According to Yuri Shalabaev, the final performance was bright. At it, Nizhny Novgorod residents shared their secrets of a strong family, talked about their favorite hobbies, sang, danced, and played musical instruments in costumes they made themselves. Thus, the Novikov family, who have nine children, considers patience and mutual respect to be the main secret of harmony. The family's leisure time is always active and together. As a result of the competition, the jury members unanimously decided to award victory to all finalists. In 2025, the winners of the festival were the Koshilevs from the Kanavinsky district, the Pitsyns from the Lenin district, the Naumkins from the Moskovsky district, the Korolevs from the Nizhny Novgorod district, the Khikhluha from the Prioksky district, the Podkopaevs from the Soviet district, and the Talinins from the Sormovsky district.
