A 17-year-old resident of Dzerzhinsk was detained for dropperism.
May 24, 2026 15:37 Incidents Employees of the criminal investigation department detained a 17-year-old girl suspected of being a dropper. This was reported by the press service of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the Nizhny Novgorod region. In early 2025, an unknown person named Alina contacted the minor on social media. During their online communication, the perpetrator informed the resident of Dzerzhinsk about the possibility of earning "easy money." She became interested and in October transferred remote online access to several of her bank cards. After some time, the girl discovered that her accounts had been blocked. At the same time, she did not receive the promised money, and "Alina" simply disappeared. The police are currently trying to establish the identity of the perpetrator. Meanwhile, a criminal case has been initiated against the 17-year-old girl for the illegal circulation of payment funds (part 3 of article 187 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation). She could face up to three years in prison. It should be noted that the law on dropperism has been in effect in Russia since July of last year. During this time, more than 140 cases of dropperism have been initiated in the Nizhny Novgorod region. The region has also seen an increase in the identification of accomplices to telephone fraudsters. For instance, in May, a 17-year-old resident of Nizhny Novgorod was detained in a case involving SIM boxes. NIA "Nizhny Novgorod" has channels on Telegram and MAX.
