The team from the Nizhny Novgorod region made it into the top 20 best at the video essay contest "Dreams of the Future."

      On May 24, 2026, at 11:24, Society In the national center "Russia," the qualifying stage of the II Video Essay Contest "Dreams of the Future" has concluded. The expert commission selected 20 best works in the age categories of 12-15 and 16-18 years. Among them is a team from the Nizhny Novgorod region. The team "Nizhny Novgorod Wave" participates in the contest on the theme "Space." Using the examples of ordinary teenagers Lesha and Sasha, the video essay demonstrates how much a person can achieve - launching a ship with a thermonuclear engine, building flying cities-aeropolises, finding common ground with nature and neighbors in the galaxy. A total of 3,740 participants took part in the contest - teams from all 89 regions of Russia, as well as from 10 neighboring republics: Uzbekistan, Belarus, Tajikistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Turkmenistan, and the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic. The total number of applications submitted was 935. The submitted works were evaluated by an expert jury. The jury included well-known science fiction writers, experts in media, culture, science, and AI technologies. The evaluation criteria are as follows: compliance with the chosen theme, quality of video footage, sound and editing, originality of presentation, artistry, quality of AI technology use, references to science fiction literature, games, and film works. The team received an additional point for references to works from the recommended literature list. The winners will be announced on June 7 at a solemn award ceremony at the national center "Russia." They will receive valuable prizes: a laptop for first place, a tablet for second, and a smartphone for third. A special prize from the general director of the national center "Russia," Natalia Virtuzova, is a trip to one of the branches of the national center "Russia" for all team members. The Skolkovo Foundation, within its nomination, prepared a special technological prize from its developments for the teams that make it to the top 20, and an online training course for teams selected based on the overall assessment of the works. The most talented participants of the second special nomination will receive a certificate for products from the federal chain of "Chitai-Gorod" bookstores worth 60,000 rubles for the winning team in the senior age group, book sets from YF for two teams in the senior age group and for three in the junior age group, and the "Hechhog" Academy will gift one team in the senior age group a month of free online classes. In 2025, 792 teams participated in the all-Russian contest "Dreams of the Future." This is 4,000 people from 89 regions of the country. The finalists of the first contest "Dreams of the Future" were 20 teams. The video essay contest "Dreams of the Future" continues its work to revive public interest in future design, which was initiated at the international symposium "Creating the Future." The contest is held as part of the Decade of Science and Technology with the support of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation, the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation, and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation.
