The state expert examination has approved another stage of the construction of the Eastern Bypass.

      May 24, 2026 09:17 Economy The project for another stage of construction of the Eastern Bypass of Nizhny Novgorod has received a positive conclusion from the state expert review. This is reported in the Unified State Register of Real Estate.

      The focus is on the fifth stage of the first phase - the creation of a toll collection system on the new highway.

      In addition, the state expert review approved the project for the reconstruction of a section of the road along the embankment of the Rowing Canal - from the Kazan exit to the Lysogorsky exit, including the area in front of the academic rowing school and the turnaround area. This section is also part of the Eastern Bypass.

      The decisions were issued by the regional state expert review management of project documentation and engineering surveys. The developer is GUAD. The project documentation was prepared by LLC "Unified Operator," JSC "Road Construction Company 'Avtoban'," and LLC "Institute of Construction and Design."

      It should be noted that the expert review had previously issued positive conclusions for the preparatory, first, second, and fourth stages of the first phase of the bypass construction, as well as for the reconstruction of the road from Afonino to Nikulskoye, which will also be implemented as part of the project.

      Recall that the first phase includes the modernization of the existing road within the boundaries of Nikulskoye, bringing the parameters in line with standards for public transport, the reconstruction of the section along the embankment of the Rowing Canal - from the area of house No. 459 in the village of Podnovye to the junction of Lysogorskaya Street, as well as the construction of a new segment with a two-level interchange over the Nizhny Novgorod - Kstovo highway.

      The second phase plans to construct a new bridge over the Volga, and the third phase includes the creation of a northeastern bypass of Bor.

      To implement the entire project, it is planned to conclude two concession agreements. The total cost of construction is estimated at more than 200 billion rubles.
