      Employees of the criminal investigation department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the city of Dzerzhinsk detained a 17-year-old local resident during operational-search activities for providing access to bank cards to third parties. It was established that in early 2025, an unknown person, introducing herself as "Alina," contacted the minor on one of the social networks. During further communication in the messenger, the perpetrator offered the girl a scheme for "easy earnings." In October, succumbing to promises of passive income, the victim transferred remote online access to several of her bank cards. After some time following the transfer of control over the payment instruments, the girl discovered that all her accounts were blocked. She did not receive the promised reward, and "Alina" ceased all communication and deleted contacts. Currently, police officers are conducting a series of activities aimed at identifying the perpetrator. A criminal case has been initiated against the 17-year-old suspect on the grounds of a crime provided for by part 3 of article 187 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (illegal circulation of payment means). The sanction of the article provides for a maximum punishment of imprisonment for up to 3 years. The Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the Nizhny Novgorod region once again urges citizens to be vigilant: - never share usernames, passwords, and access codes to banking applications and personal accounts with third parties; - offers of "quick income" or "renting bank cards" are usually part of criminal schemes for legalizing stolen funds; - by transferring access to your accounts, you risk not only losing money but also the possibility of becoming an accomplice in a crime related to the illegal circulation of payment means.
