      May 19, 2026 10:40 Society By the beginning of 2027, about 60 new domestic LTE and GSM base stations are planned to be installed in the Nizhny Novgorod region. According to MTS, the equipment is expected to improve the quality of mobile communication and the stability of the network under increasing load. The new stations support all frequency bands used in Russia for LTE and GSM, as well as the VoLTE voice transmission technology. In addition, the equipment allows multiple operators to share radio access infrastructure. Currently, there are 32 base stations of Russian production operating in the region. They are installed in both urban and rural areas - in the Ardatovsky, Vetluzhsky, Pavlovsky, Uren, Krasnobakovsky, Spassky, Gorodetsky, Tonshaevsky, and other districts. Nationwide, the operator intends to launch another 2,600 base stations, increasing their total number to 3,800 in 76 regions of Russia. To date, about 1,200 such facilities are already operational in 58 regions. The project is being implemented in collaboration with the domestic telecom vendor "Irteya."
