At the same time, the Nizhny Novgorod region leads the ranking of tourist flow to Moscow among the regions of the Volga Federal District, and ranks fifth among all subjects of the Russian Federation. The event on May 14 was attended by representatives of exhibition sites, accommodation, and catering, as well as guides, tour operators, and representatives of the authorities of the Nizhny Novgorod region, including the Minister of Tourism and Crafts of the Nizhny Novgorod region, Sergey Yakovlev.

      "We are grateful for our alliance. It is more than just Moscow, Nizhny Novgorod, and St. Petersburg. It is an important exchange of three capitals in terms of tourist flow and knowledge," said Sergey Yakovlev.

      The minister also admitted that Moscow is a "donor region" for the Nizhny Novgorod region, providing tourist flow. According to the Moscow City Tourism Committee, in 2025, more than 200 thousand Muscovites visited the Volga capital. At the same time, Sergey Yakovlev noted that Nizhny Novgorod residents also love to travel to the capital of the Russian Federation, where new spaces and commercial venues appear every season, attracting visitors with their programs and performances.

      It can be said that the growth of tourist flow is due to a very comprehensive, precise, and modern strategy for promoting the Nizhny Novgorod region. From a marketing perspective, it is clear who is invited to Nizhny Novgorod, what to do here, and what major seasonal events are taking place. This contributes to Muscovites, especially the young audience, knowing about this city and coming here," said Anna Nefedova, Deputy General Director for Regional Interaction of the ANO "Project Office for the Development of Tourism and Hospitality in Moscow."

The joint work of specialists is built within the framework of the "Strategy for Reciprocal Tourist Flows" program. According to Anna Nefedova, Moscow and Nizhny Novgorod are united by the authorities' attention to the restoration of cultural heritage sites and the creation of historical routes.       Both the Mayor of Moscow and the Governor of the Nizhny Novgorod region are making significant efforts - over the past 10-15 years, these cities have become completely different: with updated infrastructure, beautiful roads, and exhibition sites.       At the same time, Anna Nefedova emphasized that Moscow and Nizhny Novgorod are cities of different contexts. In particular, the "tourist product" also differs.

      Moscow is the capital of Russia, a city of business tourism, which probably encompasses all the opportunities of our country. Nizhny Novgorod is the capital of sunsets, with a focus on youth themes and event activities.
