Evgeny Lyulin: "The memory of our heroes is stronger than any weapon."
On May 6, 2026, at 16:22, Society: On May 6, deputies and staff of the Legislative Assembly honored the memory of the defenders of the Fatherland and laid flowers at the "Eternal Flame" memorial in the Nizhny Novgorod Kremlin. The ceremony was timed to the 81st anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War.
The event was also attended by young soldiers from school No. 27, who are on honorary duty at Post No. 1. The day before, young employees and union members of the regional parliament's apparatus also honored the memory of the soldiers of the Great Patriotic War. According to the chairman of the Legislative Assembly of the Nizhny Novgorod region, Evgeny Lyulin, this tradition has existed for many years. It serves as a reminder that the connection between generations should not be broken and that gratitude to the heroes continues to live in the hearts of Nizhny Novgorod residents.
"The Eternal Flame burns not only in the Kremlin — it burns in our hearts. Today, standing by this sacred flame, we understand: as long as we remember our heroes — we cannot be defeated. Our grandfathers stood firm in the most terrible war, lifted the country, gave us life, and granted us the right to speak our native language and continue to preserve our traditions. Today, their grandchildren and great-grandchildren stand again in defense of the Motherland, protecting the interests of the country in a special military operation. I firmly believe: Victory will be ours, because the truth is on our side, and our memory is stronger than any weapon," said Evgeny Lyulin.
