Nizhny Novgorod sports facilities became laureates of federal awards.

      April 26, 2026 17:27 Sports Three sports facilities in the Nizhny Novgorod region have been awarded the XIII annual "Sports Infrastructure" prize. The award ceremony took place at the Ministry of Sports of Russia in Moscow, Governor Gleb Nikitin reported on his MAX channel.

      Thus, the "Oka" sports complex in Dzerzhinsk has been recognized as the best physical culture and health complex in the country for the third consecutive year. The "Quartz" sports school in Bor was noted for its development of IT infrastructure. The ice arena at Strelka became the winner among new and under-construction ice facilities.

      In addition, the director of the "Triumph" sports complex in Volodarsk was among the best leaders of sports institutions, taking second place.

      "It is very pleasing to see municipal institutions among the winners. This proves that our sports infrastructure is at a high level even in the districts," emphasized the regional head.

      Nizhny Novgorod projects also attracted attention at the IX SBK Awards, which highlight the best solutions in the sports business sector.

      The finalists included cases from the regional Ministry of Sports, the Department of Sports of Nizhny Novgorod, the Center for Urban Development, HC "Torpedo," "Center 800," as well as the football stadium at Strelka and the Regional Center for Adaptive Sports "Parus" in Dzerzhinsk.

      "I thank the government team, our sports organizations, and their leaders for their excellent work and worthy representation of the region at the federal level!" added Gleb Nikitin.

      It was previously reported that the Governor's Cup in hockey will not be held in Nizhny Novgorod this year.
