Work on landscaping after the winter period began even before the official start of the month. In the Soviet district, landscaping work continues as part of the month declared by the head of Nizhny Novgorod, Yuri Shalabaev. Daily, workers are engaged in cleaning curb strips, sidewalks, and public spaces, collecting garbage, and repairing urban infrastructure. As noted by the head of the Soviet district administration, Alexander Ivanov, landscaping work after the winter period began even before the official start of the month. "Earlier, I personally inspected the condition of underground pedestrian crossings. During the inspection, we identified the necessary scope of work, many of which were carried out even before the official start of the month. Currently, the contractor is completing local repairs of steps, work has already been done to strengthen railings and paint bins, and washing of walls and canopies has been organized," shared Alexander Ivanov.
In addition to the work on updating crossings, comprehensive work has been organized in the district for cleaning public spaces and courtyard areas. Special attention is being paid to tidying up container sites: cleaning from garbage and unauthorized dumps, and removing bulky waste. At the same time, cleaning of the street and road network, green areas, and bus stops from sand and small debris that has thawed from under the snow is being carried out.
As noted in the district's housing and communal services administration, the landscaping work planned as part of the month will be supplemented as the weather warms up. "In the near future, with favorable weather conditions, we will move on to additional work on washing urban infrastructure objects, tidying up landscaping elements in parks and squares, and repairing children's playgrounds. In addition, as part of the month, we plan to increase the greening of the district: plant new trees, arrange flower beds, and update lawns as needed," the administration noted.
Earlier, it was reported that the head of Nizhny Novgorod, Yuri Shalabaev, together with residents of Kstovo, participated in a citywide cleanup day. Local residents, the mayor of the capital of the Volga region, and the head of the Kstovo district administration, Ivan Ulanov, were tidying up the Jubilee Park, which was improved under the program "Formation of a Comfortable Urban Environment."
As the mayor later stated, a nationwide online voting for landscaping projects for 2027 under the program "Formation of a Comfortable Urban Environment," which is part of the national project "Infrastructure for Life," has started.
"You can vote for your favorite area this year on the new platform zagorodsreda.gosuslugi.ru until June 12. You can support no more than one object. I will also definitely vote – I always do this literally in the first days after the start. Join those who help change the future of the city with their vote!" the mayor wrote on his social media.
