Dmitry Filipenko: "The party delivered Easter cakes to pensioners cut off from the outside world due to the flood."
April 13, 2026 17:40 Society On the Bright Resurrection of Christ, activists from the Nizhny Novgorod regional branch and local branches of the United Russia party and the Young Guard organized a series of targeted congratulations for residents of the Nizhny Novgorod region who found themselves in difficult situations, as well as for military personnel, veterans, and relatives of fighters in the special military operation. Due to the flooding of a low-water bridge over the Linda River near the village of Ostreyevo, three settlements were completely cut off. United Russia activists delivered Easter cakes and food packages by motorboat to support residents during the holiday. Dmitry Filipenko, head of the Nizhny Novgorod regional executive committee of the United Russia party, emphasized the importance of such care: "The party delivered cakes to pensioners cut off from the outside world due to the flood. On the bright holiday of Easter, United Russia activists went to the municipal district of Bor to congratulate residents of villages deprived of access to roads and stores, to present them with treats and to bring the atmosphere of celebration that must come to every home. It is important for us that no one is left without attention and support, especially on such a great day." Meltwater annually cuts off villages from external communication. During the flood season, the local administration pays special attention to the settlements. "Every year, three villages are cut off: Doyemki, Bykovo, and Tyuleni. Two of them have 20 registered residents, but only eight live there permanently. We regularly provide them with food, medicine, and call for an ambulance if necessary. This year, on the bright holiday of Easter, we tried to pay special attention to each resident so that no one was left without support and attention," said Pavel Kulikov, head of the Lindovsky territorial department of the Bor district administration of the Nizhny Novgorod region. "It is important that we, the elderly, are not forgotten. There are not many people living in our villages, and such attention is especially valuable and pleasant," thanked local resident Albina Gennadyevna. At the same time, activists of United Russia and Young Guards held an Easter event in support of the fighters of the special military operation. Together with students from the Nizhny Novgorod Institute of Food Technology and Design, the activists baked cakes and delivered them to the military hospital. "On the eve of the Bright Easter holiday, the activists of the Young Guard decided to support the fighters of the special military operation who are undergoing treatment and rehabilitation at the Nizhny Novgorod military hospital. Students do their part to bring Victory closer, support the military, and give their warmth to the defenders of the Fatherland," commented Roman Zykov, leader of the Nizhny Novgorod Young Guards. Activists from the Kanavinsky local branch of the Young Guard of United Russia visited the mother of a hero of the special military operation during the holiday and congratulated Great Patriotic War veteran Isaac Zakharovich Yasinovsky on Easter. "It is very valuable to me that the younger generation appreciates and respects history, the feats of the heroes of the Great Patriotic War and the special military operation. It is pleasant for us, veterans, to feel the attention and care from the younger generation, especially during such bright holidays," shared the veteran. Conducting such events is an important part of the work of United Russia and the Young Guard, aimed at developing civic responsibility, strengthening traditional values, and providing real help to those in need. "Bright Easter is a time of hope and gratitude. By visiting the mothers of heroes and veterans, we confirm that their feats are not forgotten. These meetings show how important it is to be there, to support, and to remember those who made our peaceful present possible," said MGER activist Aigul Guluyeva. The action covered almost all municipalities in the Nizhny Novgorod region. Easter cakes and warm congratulations from United Russia and the Young Guard were received by lonely pensioners, veterans of the Great Patriotic War and rear workers, people with disabilities, as well as veterans of the special military operation and their family members. The holiday came to every home where attention and care were especially awaited. Events aimed at targeted support for the most vulnerable categories of citizens are implemented as part of the People's Program of the United Russia party, which is formed taking into account citizens' proposals.
