The Ministry of Emergency Situations reminded Nizhny Novgorod residents of safety rules during drone attacks.
April 5, 2026 12:15 Society Residents of the Nizhny Novgorod region about safety rules during shelling and drone attacks. The memo was published by the regional department of the agency on its MAX channel. According to the recommendations, when in a building, one should go down to the basement, lower floors, or parking. If such rooms are not available, it is necessary to choose a room with load-bearing walls, sit on the floor against a concrete wall, crouch down, and stay away from windows. The safest place in an apartment, rescuers say, is the bathroom. Those who find themselves on the street are advised not to panic first and foremost. Upon hearing the whistle of a shell, one should immediately lie down on the ground and cover their head with their hands. Then, one should seek shelter in the nearest building, underground passage, or parking lot. If there are no shelters nearby, it is recommended to use any depressions, ledges, or concrete structures and stay there until the shelling ends. If a person is in a car or public transport, they should stop, leave the vehicle, and crawl towards a more reliable shelter — for example, the entrance of a building, an underground passage, or a parking lot. After that, one should lie down on the ground and wait for the explosions to stop. After the shelling is over, rescuers do not recommend leaving the shelter immediately. It is important to watch your step carefully, not to touch unexploded ordnance and suspicious objects, and to keep children close by. We remind you that last night an attack by 30 enemy drones was repelled in the Nizhny Novgorod region. The debris from the downed "birds" damaged facilities of the oil refinery, Novogorkovskaya CHPP, as well as residential buildings. Power supply was temporarily suspended in the Kstovo district. The speaker of the ZSNO, Evgeny Lyulin, called the attempt to attack the region on the night of Palm Sunday a cowardly act. NIA "Nizhny Novgorod" has a Telegram channel.
