An investigator from the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia "Pavlovsky" has initiated a criminal case on the grounds of a crime provided for by part 3 of article 187 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (illegal circulation of payment instruments). The suspects have confessed. They are currently under a travel ban. The sanction of this article provides for a punishment of up to 3 years of imprisonment. Police warn that the transfer of electronic payment instruments (such as bank cards) and/or access to them to another person for the purpose of committing illegal transactions, motivated by personal gain, is a criminal offense. We recommend refraining from sending money through third parties using your accounts and payment instruments, as well as from handing over your electronic payment instruments to strangers. Protect your personal data – access to your online banking should be only with you. If your children have their own electronic payment instruments, tell them about the rules of financial security, drop shipping, and the legal responsibility for it. If you or your loved ones encounter attempts of fraudulent actions against you, immediately report to the nearest police station or call 02 (or 102 from a mobile phone).
