      The traditional holiday "Fisherman's Day" will take place in Avtozavodsky Park on July 13. From 1:30 PM to 5:30 PM, participants will be able to demonstrate their fishing skills and compete for prizes in various categories. As reported by the city department of parks and squares, the unique feature of the competition is that the fish must be caught from the main fountain of the park. The fountain will be divided into four sectors, each marked with its own color. The competition will involve the use of fishing rods. "For Nizhny Novgorod fishermen, a special stage will be prepared – fishing Madagascar-style: using nets, hands, or bags. Trailing, that is, using treble hooks and double hooks to catch fish, is strictly prohibited. Nets can only be used for landing caught fish. To receive prizes, participants must account for their catch at a separate tent. The fish will be placed in a bag with the participant's surname and will then be left at the weighing station until the end of the event," said the department specialists. This year, the following categories are planned for participants: "largest catch in kilograms," "first caught fish," "largest caught fish," "smallest caught fish," "youngest fisherman," "luckiest fisherwoman," and a prize for "Madagascar-style fishing." At 2:00 PM, themed play areas for children will be organized in the park, along with a sidewalk drawing contest, a master class on painting wooden fish, and a quest "All About Fish." At 3:00 PM, there will be a fish soup tasting. The results of the fishing and the award ceremony for the winners will take place at 5:00 PM, and the event will conclude at 5:30 PM.
