A farewell for Professor Vadim Sobolev of NNGU will be held on January 13.

      At the age of 73, Vadim Yuryevich Sobolev, Doctor of Economic Sciences, professor and head of the Department of the Economics of Entrepreneurial Activity at Nizhny Novgorod State University named after N.I. Lobachevsky (NNGU), has died.

      He graduated from the Faculty of Economics of Gorky State University in 1975 and devoted more than 45 years to science and teaching. During that time Vadim Yuryevich became not only a consummate professional, but also a person who was sincerely valued and respected by colleagues and students.

      Sobolev began his teaching career in 1980. Two years later he defended his Candidate of Sciences dissertation, and in 2000 he became a Doctor of Economic Sciences. Until 2012 he worked at the Nizhny Novgorod Commercial Institute, where he held managerial positions. After that he headed a department at NNGU, which he led until his last days.

      Vadim Yuryevich was not only a strong specialist but also a true mentor — attentive, wise, and responsive, NNGU noted. His advice, support and kindness will be remembered by many. In his colleagues' memory he will remain a man with a big heart and a bright soul.

      The farewell ceremony will take place on January 13 at 11:00 at the Nizhny Novgorod crematorium at 27 Zaitseva Street.
