Scammers deceived a woman in Gorodets under the pretense of being hired as a designer.

      A 20-year-old resident of Gorodets, seeking employment, became the victim of fraudsters and lost money. This was reported by the press service of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the Nizhny Novgorod Region.

      The woman told police that she had seen an advertisement in a messenger about the opportunity to earn extra money as a designer of product cards for online stores.

      During a phone call with the "employer" she was instructed to transfer money to the specified account to formalize the employment. Believing the fraudster, the complainant transferred 79,361 rubles. After that the "employer" stopped responding, and the woman realized that she had been deceived.

      A criminal case has been opened on the charge of "fraud," and the police are searching for the scammers.

      Police officers urge citizens to be careful when receiving messages about extra earnings via SMS or email. If you are asked to provide bank card details, transfer money, or install programs on your phone for work — it is most likely a scam. Before agreeing to such offers, check the information about the company or the person offering the job. Be vigilant in financial matters to protect your money.
