A plane from Sochi operated by the Ikar airline was the first to land in 2026 at Nizhny Novgorod’s Chkalov Airport, the airport’s press service reported.
The flight arrived at 10:31 and served as the symbolic opening of the year’s new flight schedule.
On January 1, the airport is expected to handle ten flights, including one international flight — to Uzbekistan’s capital, Tashkent.
Note that the previous evening the “Kover” plan was put into effect at Nizhny Novgorod Airport due to the threat of a drone attack.
Earlier it became known that eight routes from Nizhny Novgorod will be subsidized in 2026. It was also reported that during the New Year holidays Nizhny Novgorod residents will have flights available to 16 destinations. NIA “Nizhny Novgorod” has a Telegram channel.
