"He was cursing": a woman from Nizhny Novgorod complained about a rude driver
21 November 2025 06:45 Incidents
A passenger complained about the driver of bus A-91 in Nizhny Novgorod, who swore and spoke rudely to her and other passengers.
A local resident who happened to ride in the minibus told the NIA "Nizhny Novgorod" editorial office about the incident. She usually takes the tram, but on 20 November she had to use a route taxi. When she boarded, she did not immediately understand how to pay the fare — there were no familiar turnstiles. She asked the driver where to tap her bank card, but he remained silent. She then asked the other passengers, and they kindly explained what to do.
However, the driver eventually spoke up. But, as our reader put it, he would have been better off staying silent.
"The driver asked aggressively, 'What, do you live in the forest? Don't you know how to pay?' I answered that I don't take route taxis," the Nizhny Novgorod resident said.
A passenger stood up for her. The man reprimanded the driver, demanding an explanation for why he was addressing passengers that way. In response the minibus driver began using obscene language, started insulting the man and demanded that he "get out of here."
Fortunately, no fight broke out. However, residents of Nizhny Novgorod constantly complain about the rudeness of bus drivers, which leaves a poor impression of the city's public transport.
Route A-91 is operated by Konka LLC. Earlier this month, CRTS specialists identified more than 50 violations on several routes run by this carrier, including route No. 91.
Recall that as of 1 November the fare on Nizhny Novgorod's public transport rose to 40 rubles for cashless payments. Metro fares in Nizhny Novgorod have also changed.
