Nizhny Novgorod authorities discussed snow removal.

      The head of Nizhny Novgorod, Yuri Shalabaev, held the first expanded meeting of the snow removal headquarters this season. According to meteorologists' forecasts, up to 15 mm of rain with wet snow may fall in the city as early as this Saturday. The city administration's press service reported this.

      The mayor reminded meeting participants that the first snow should not catch the city off guard. He stressed that all municipal enterprises have been provided with the necessary resources; their readiness had been checked earlier.

      Particular attention is planned to be paid to the maintenance of courtyards and intra-quarter areas. Housing management companies must operate at full capacity to avoid complaints from residents. In the case of improper cleaning, the administrative and technical inspection will be involved.

      "The main task is clean streets and courtyards. Fines are not an end in themselves, but if someone does not understand otherwise, we will use that mechanism," Shalabaev said.

      Earlier it was reported that nearly a thousand units of special machinery and over three thousand street cleaners will be involved in cleaning the city during the winter period.
