In the Nizhny Novgorod region, about 11,000 cases of influenza and acute respiratory viral infections (ARVI) were recorded in the first week of November. Despite the rise in cases, the epidemic threshold in the region has not been exceeded, the regional Rospotrebnadzor reported.
Rhinovirus and mycoplasma were most often detected in the sick. RSV, parainfluenza, metapneumoviruses, bocaviruses and adenoviruses were also encountered. Cases of influenza remain sporadic.
Due to the increase in illnesses, classes have been partially suspended in nine classes at six schools and in 63 groups across 48 kindergartens. Educational institutions have stepped up preventive measures: they carry out regular disinfection, use bactericidal lamps, ventilate rooms and check the children’s condition in the mornings.
The vaccination campaign continues. As of November 13, more than 1.4 million people — 47.4% of the region’s population — have already been vaccinated against influenza.
Earlier it was reported that, from December 1, Nizhny Novgorod residents will receive referrals to doctors in electronic form.
