Nizhny Novgorod social workers held master classes in support of the special military operation.
14 November 2025 10:38 Society A large-scale action in support of participants in the special military operation took place in the Nizhny Novgorod region. Activists of the project "Social District Police Officers" organized workshops on making camouflage nets and trench candles. Events were held on November 13 at 14 venues across Nizhny Novgorod, Dzerzhinsk, Arzamas and Bogorodsk.
More than 300 people gathered in youth and neighborhood centers. Participants learned to weave nets and make candles. Necessary materials were purchased for the event: 250 kilograms of paraffin and 600 tin cans for candles, as well as 20 rolls of spunbond fabric, 500 meters each — enough to make almost 10,000 strips for the camouflage nets.
Social district police officer from the Prioksky district, Margarita Shatskaya, said that such assistance to the fighters is especially important. Nets and candles wear out quickly — they burn, tear, and are left at positions. Therefore it is important to constantly replenish supplies. Among the participants were both regular volunteers and newcomers.
A veteran of the special military operation from the Prioksky district and participant in the "Heroes. Nizhny Novgorod Region" program, Andrey Kupriyanov, joined the action. He, together with other volunteers, made trench candles and shared his experience.
"Trench candles help not only to keep warm, but also to prepare food. I myself was 'behind the tape' and I know how they helped us, so such actions are very important. Now it's a war of drones and our fighters need protection from them, good camouflage. The more nets we make and supply to the special military operation zone, the more lives of our fighters we will save," he noted.
The head of the Prioksky district administration, Mikhail Shatilov, reported that all the candles and nets produced will be sent to the fighters within the next month. Humanitarian shipments to the special military operation zone have been sent regularly since the start of the operation. And the social district police officers are involving more and more volunteers in the aid effort, because supporting participants of the special military operation and their families is one of the project's priorities.
Earlier it was reported that residents of the Prioksky district of Nizhny Novgorod improved school grounds with the help of the social district officers.
