Nizhny Novgorod Region will implement digital monitoring of interregional buses

Nizhny Novgorod Region will become one of the first regions of Russia to implement a digital control system for interregional bus routes. A large-scale experiment is scheduled for the period from January 15 to November 1, 2026, JSC "GLONASS" CEO Alexey Raykevich told TASS in an interview. It will cover 32 regions.
The new system will allow the route approval process to be transferred to a fully digital format. Thanks to this, the time required for the necessary procedures will be reduced by more than half — from 63 to 33 days.
Passengers will also gain a direct benefit from the innovation: they will be able to verify the legality of the carrier.
The platform will be integrated with the "People's Control" service.
The experiment is aimed at cleaning the transport market of unscrupulous companies. The system is expected to create an incentive for legal enterprises interested in providing quality services.
It was previously reported that Nizhny Novgorod routes are being switched to higher-class buses.
