Five residents of Nizhny Novgorod will stand trial for shooting at a bus.

      According to it, the investigation of a criminal case against five residents of the region, two of whom are minors, has been completed. They are accused of hooliganism committed with the use of a weapon (part 2 of Article 213 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation).

      According to investigators, the incident occurred on 29 June 2025 at Sovetskaya Square. Two of the accused opened fire with gas-powered pneumatic weapons at a route minibus in which a 17-year-old acquaintance of theirs was seated.

      After the shots, three other defendants boarded the bus to intimidate the victim and other passengers. As a result of the attack the young man sustained injuries classified as minor bodily harm.

      The identities of all participants were promptly established by officers of the Center for Combating Extremism of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the regional FSB directorate for the Nizhny Novgorod Region. By court decision, four of the accused were remanded in custody, one was placed under house arrest.

      "The investigation has collected a sufficient evidentiary base, and the criminal case has been sent to court for substantive consideration," the agency added.

      Earlier it was reported that the Investigative Committee opened a case against a migrant who attacked a bus in Nizhny Novgorod.
