      13 November 2025 16:42 Society: Due to an increase in passenger traffic during the New Year holidays, the Gorky Railway is introducing additional runs of the branded train No. 51/52 connecting Nizhny Novgorod, Kazan and Izhevsk.

      From Nizhny Novgorod the train will depart in the evening at 22:01 on December 25, 27 and 29, and on January 1, 3, 5, 7, 8 and 10. Arrival in Kazan is scheduled for 05:54 the next day, and in Izhevsk at 12:08.

      In the opposite direction the train departs Izhevsk at 18:40 on December 26, 28 and 30, and on January 1, 2, 4, 6, 8, 9 and 11. It arrives in Kazan the same day at 22:48, and in Nizhny Novgorod the next day at 07:46.

      Passengers will have access to compartment (kupe) and platzkart (reserved-seat) carriages equipped with bio-toilets, air conditioning and individual power outlets. Special compartments for passengers with reduced mobility and for travel with children are also provided.

      Earlier it was reported that additional "Lastochka" trains will be launched between Nizhny Novgorod and Kirov during the New Year holidays.
