A traveling exhibition "Heroes of the Home Front. Pages of Memory" (12+) opened in Pilna. The exhibition is dedicated to the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War and tells of the selfless labor of the region's residents during the war, reports pravda-nn.ru.

"This year is special for all of us — the year of the 80th anniversary of the Great Victory. We remember the feat of our ancestors and as long as we remember, they are alive," said Natalya Lyubaeva, deputy head of the administration of the Pilninsky District, at the ceremony.

Residents of the district recently published a Book of Remembrance dedicated to front-line veterans who returned from the war. Schoolchildren actively participated in collecting materials, many of whom came to the exhibition. Residents of the village of Petryaksy proposed installing plaques with the names of those who returned from the war.

The project team studied thousands of pages to show how the region's residents worked on the home front — at factories, on collective farms, and in schools.

With the help of augmented reality technology, the exhibition became interactive: by pointing a smartphone camera at the posters, visitors can see archival video footage and hear eyewitness accounts. A total of ten videos were prepared, dedicated to the contribution of women, children, and collective farm workers to the common cause of Victory.

Newspaper materials also tell about the labor feats of the residents of the Pilninsky District. Thus, in 1941 it was the first in the region to fulfill the grain procurement plan and received the passing Red Banner. Yields exceeded 15 centners per hectare, although achieving this result was extremely difficult. In addition, the people of Pilna raised funds to build four tanks, which were named "Pilninsky Kolkhoznik."

Guests also saw wartime items found by search teams: helmets, mess tins, and soldiers' personal belongings. The exhibits were provided by the organization "Kurgan." Works by participants of a creative contest dedicated to the Year of the Defender of the Fatherland were also presented.
