      A fire broke out last night in a residential building on Myzinskaya Street in Nizhny Novgorod, the press service of the regional branch of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations reported.

      About 150 square meters were engulfed in flames. As a result of the incident, the 57-year-old owner of the apartment died. His body was found by rescuers after the fire was extinguished.

      According to preliminary information, the cause of the tragedy may have been careless smoking. Specialists are continuing to investigate all the circumstances of the incident.

      The Emergencies Ministry once again reminds: do not smoke in bed and especially not while intoxicated, do not leave cigarettes unattended, use ashtrays, and always make sure a cigarette is extinguished before leaving a room. Observing these simple rules can save lives.
