A landfill in a wooded strip caught fire on Moskovskoye Highway in Nizhny Novgorod.

      A fire broke out at an illegal dump in a strip of trees near Moskovskoye Highway in Nizhny Novgorod on November 13, the press service of the Nizhny Novgorod regional Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations (EMERCOM) reported.

      The blaze was quickly contained. City Civil Defense and Emergency Situations Department personnel took part in the firefighting, as did equipment and specialists from the road organizations "RED" and "Dorozhnik."

      Two front-end loaders, a road-washing vehicle, a fire truck and ten dump trucks provided by JSC "OKO" were deployed to extinguish the fire.

      The illegal dump where the fire occurred had been recorded as early as 2022. It is located on land belonging to the Balakhna forestry enterprise.

      According to authorities, there are no residential buildings in the area of the incident.

      Earlier it was reported that two people were hospitalized as a result of a fire in Dzerzhinsk.
