Nizhny Novgorod residents were invited to take part in the All‑Russian children's campaign "I Am a Russian."

November 11, 2025, 14:32 Society Residents of the Nizhny Novgorod Region are invited to join the All‑Russian children's cultural and educational campaign "I am a Russian," timed to the Day of National Unity. This year the campaign is dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the Great Victory. This large‑scale event will bring together about three million schoolchildren, teachers and parents.

The campaign has already started in schools and vocational colleges across the country and will conclude on November 15. Its goal is to form civic identity, instill love for the Motherland and foster respect for representatives of the different peoples living in the territory of the Russian Federation.

In 2025 the campaign was supported by the Presidential Grants Fund and the Federal Agency for Nationalities Affairs, the Civic Chamber of the Russian Federation, and the Federal State Budgetary Institution "House of the Peoples of Russia." The event is included in the list of activities of the Ministry of Education of Russia recommended for implementation within the calendar plan of educational work for the 2025–2026 academic year.

"We hope that the majority of Russian schoolchildren, teachers and parents will take an active part in the campaign. Together we can make our world better, and our society more cohesive and harmonious, living according to spiritual values that create a completely new level of quality of life for a person, their aspirations and opportunities for development," says the director of the House of the Peoples of Russia, Anna Polezhaeva.

As part of the campaign, two digital interactive lessons are planned for primary and senior classes. No special preparation is required. The lessons can be conducted not only by teachers and employees of the education and culture sectors, but also by parents who download the materials from the campaign's website.

During the lessons, children will gain knowledge about the cultural diversity of the peoples and the factors that unite them, about Russia's traditional religions, history, and spiritual, moral and family values.

"The 'I am a Russian' campaign has already proven itself as one of the best projects in the patriotic education of young students. We see the children's interest in topics of morality, spirituality and in the principles that have been formed in society over centuries," noted Vladimir Zorin, chairman of the Civic Chamber of the Russian Federation's commission on interethnic and interreligious relations and migration.

According to the organizers, last year about 2 million schoolchildren and more than 62 thousand teachers participated.
