In Russia, the 1,000th domestically produced 'Bulat' base station was installed.

November 11, 2025, 18:14 T2, a Russian mobile operator, put into service a milestone domestically produced base station in the village of Klyuchi in the Irkutsk Region. Residents now have access to high-speed mobile internet and voice services. By the end of the year the total number of "Bulat" sites in Russian regions will reach 1,800 units. Modern domestic equipment is also operating in the Nizhny Novgorod Region.

T2, in partnership with Rostelecom, installed the milestone 1,000th base station from the company Bulat; service became available to residents of the village of Klyuchi, Cheremkhovsky District, Irkutsk Region. At the moment, domestically produced infrastructure is available in eight macro-regions where the operator is present. The leaders by number are the "Chernozemye," "Siberia" and "Ural" macro-regions. The companies’ goal is to add another 800 Bulat base stations to the infrastructure in small settlements across the country by the end of 2025.

Using big data, T2 analyzed traffic on domestically produced base stations for October 2025. The core users are people aged 35–44, who account for 29% of traffic; in second place are users aged 45–54 with 20% of total traffic; third are residents of small settlements aged 25–34 — 19%. Voice traffic is distributed roughly equally across all categories — each age range accounts for more than 1,500 successful calls.

In the Nizhny Novgorod Region, since the start of the project the operator has already activated 25 Bulat base stations. According to October data, the most active internet users live in the selo of Belozerovo in the Delnekonstantinovsky district, the village of Marfino in the Voskresensky district, and the selo of Veldemanovo in the Perevozsky district. The leader by call duration by a significant margin was the selo of Anda in the Sergach district. The largest category consists of customers aged 35–54 — they are the most active consumers of voice and internet traffic. Moreover, 58% of subscribers are women.

Alexey Dmitriev, Deputy General Director for Technical Infrastructure at T2:

"We are actively increasing the pace of installing domestically produced base stations on our network. In August this year we put the 500th Bulat station on air, and today we are already sharing our achievements on the 1,000th telecom facility. The synergy of the three companies — T2, Rostelecom and Bulat — makes a significant contribution to strengthening the country's digital sovereignty. Developing communications in small settlements is also one of our company's priorities. Work to expand the T2 network is underway in all regions where we operate."

Alexey Sidorov, Director of the "Volga" macro-region at T2:

"Digital literacy of the population in the Volga regions is constantly increasing; along with this, demand for high-quality and reliable mobile communications is growing. This is relevant also for small settlements: we see how volumes of voice and internet traffic consumption are increasing in villages and hamlets, and how actively rural subscribers use educational platforms, online cinemas, and Gosuslugi services. The installation of Bulat base stations allows us to respond in a timely manner to the requests of subscribers who live outside large cities, and already thousands of people in the Nizhny Novgorod Region have gained access to an LTE-standard network since the beginning of the year."
