A double housewarming was celebrated at the Nizhny Novgorod Limpopo Zoo — Finlayson's squirrels and a pair of black swans moved into new enclosures, the zoo's press service reports.
Finlayson's squirrels arrived at the Nizhny Novgorod land of animals and birds very recently. For a while they were kept in quarantine, so visitors could not see them, but now anyone who wishes can meet the fluffy animals. The squirrels were moved to a new enclosure that is part of the squirrel town in the zoo's second area.
According to Limpopo's CEO Vladimir Gerasichkin, the squirrels are accustomed to an Asian climate, so appropriate humidity and temperature are maintained in their new home. Wooden structures and nest-box houses with hollows have also been placed in the enclosure, as well as a special information board with facts about the animals.
In addition, a new enclosure was built for the pair of black swans, Brilliant and Pearl. A certain temperature is also maintained in their house for comfortable wintering, but at the moment the birds prefer to spend time outdoors.
Earlier pravda-nn.ru reported that Nizhny Novgorod residents were invited to choose names for the spider monkeys from the Limpopo Zoo.
