More than 135 km of roads near the M-12 have been restored in Nizhny Novgorod Oblast.

In the Nizhny Novgorod region, 135.5 km of roads damaged during the construction of the federal M-12 highway have been restored, NIA "Nizhny Novgorod" was told by the Main Directorate of Highways of the region.
According to the information provided, as part of measures already being implemented this year, repairs of 156.6 km of roads were planned. Construction work on the remaining 21.1 km has been completed, and an acceptance procedure is currently underway.
An additional 154.99 km of roads were restored by Avtodor. Contracts have already been signed for 2026 to carry out repairs on a further 71.3 km of roads that were used during the construction of the M-12.
As the Main Directorate of Highways (GUAD) reminded, the project is being implemented with the participation of the regional government, the state company Avtodor and the Russian Ministry of Transport.
To date, the total length of damaged road sections to be restored has been specified. It amounts to 734.11 km. It is planned that these works will be carried out with additional funding that the region hopes to obtain with the support of federal authorities.
The issue of allocating the necessary funds is currently being discussed with the Russian government and the Ministry of Transport. This will ensure timely restoration of the transport infrastructure used in the construction of the important highway, the regional road administration concluded.
Earlier it was reported that by the end of 2025 they planned to restore 180 km of roads near the M-12 in the Nizhny Novgorod region.
