During the feeding of a log through the gripping device, it became necessary to adjust the log in the grippers. Having not locked the machine by raising the guard, which automatically disables the machine, the 32-year-old worker went to the equipment’s gripping mechanisms, began to adjust the log, and at that moment was trapped between the device and the machine.
The injured worker was taken to a medical facility, where he was diagnosed with fractured ribs and traumatic shock.
